Deepawali is celebrated in Kartik month on Amavsya,Krishna paksh of Vikram samvat calendar.Deepawali is five days festival it starts with Dhanteras and ends on bhaiya dauj.The five festivals is 1.Dhanteras 2.Deepawali 3.Laxmi pujan 4.Govardhan pooja. 5.Bhaiya dauj.Children enjoy a lot on this festival.

This religious festival signifies the victory of good over evil and the triumph of light over darkness.Some people says that Shri Krishna slay Narkasur on this day.
How to celebrate:-On Dhanteras people buy jewelry or some pots or new things they think that it is good to increase wealth.On Deepawali people
light earthen ghee lamp.people decorate their houses with colorful lights.Kids love bursting crackers and different fireworks like sparklers, rockets, flower pots, fountains, peony fireworks, etc.people worship goddess Laxmi in Diwali night.
People distribute sweats to each other.
